Celtic hold Lyon, Lennon opines on Aiden

The Aiden McGeady "will he or won't he" saga has taken another twist after Celtic boss Neil Lennon suggesting he could play the Ireland international in Wednesday's Champions League qualifier.

A bid of around £9.5million has reportedly been lodged by Spartak Moscow but Lennon has said the fact McGeady's value would likely drop if he were cup-tied is not a factor in his thinking.

Following Celtic's 3-0 loss at Braga, Lennon still believes the tie is winnable and appears keen to keep his options open. Celtic's powers of recovery were demonstrated this afternoon when goals inside the last 10 minutes from new-signing Gary Hooper and Georgios Samaras against Lyon in the Emirates Cup snatched a 2-2 draw.

Speaking after the match, Lennon said: "That's not my problem (cup-tying Aiden). I'm not even thinking about that. He looked a wee bit flat but that's understandable. He's not had any football and we'll give him a run-out again tomorrow."

McGeady was replaced by Shaun Maloney after 57 minutes this afternoon in a game which saw Scott Brown leaving the field with a potential injury early in the second half, to be replaced by Efrain Juarez. Lennon said the midfielder received a "bang on the foot" and will be looked at tomorrow (Sunday).

Celtic face hosts Arsenal, who drew 1-1 with AC Milan this afternoon, tomorrow. The points system is somewhat strange, so Celtic have every chance of winning the tournament - three points for a win, one for a draw and a point for every goal. If teams are tied on points, goal difference and goals scored, the winners will be the team with most shots on target.

Celtic team v Lyon: Zaluska; Cha (Hinkel 57), Loovens (Rogne 57), Misun, Twardzik (Mulgrew 69) ; Forrest, Brown (Juarez 53), Ledley, McGeady (Maloney 57); Fortune (Samaras 69), Hooper
