Celtic full-back Adam Matthews could yet return for Wales in their World Cup qualifier in Croatia tomorrow evening.

"He has improved since he has been with us and had more treatment" - Chris Coleman
The 20-year-old missed his country's 2-1 group victory against Scotland on Friday due to an ankle injury.

However, Welsh manager Chris Coleman will once again assess the progress of the former Cardiff City defender ahead of the game after Matthews joined the rest of the squad in making the journey.

"Adam is with us and we'll watch him carefully," Coleman told the Sporting Life. "We have to weigh up the consequences - he has not done a lot for two weeks, but he has improved since he has been with us and had more treatment.

"He could possibly join in, or that might possibly be a little bit early," he added. "But he is with us and we will be waiting until the last minute before we say a definite yes or no."

I just saw the most hilarious column on the dumb geordie site, newcastleunitedmad.ca. They ask if they shoud "rescue" Gary Hooper from the Scottish league. Yes, NEWCASTLE! Newcastle, on course to be plying their trade n their managers familiar surroundings of the championship, want to "rescue" Hooper. Rescue him from one of the top clubs in the world, the Champions League, success every year! Yeah good thinking dumb boys. Go for it. Ho wouldn't jump at that chance? This from a club who were in possession of Englands #2 goalie in the making. It happened only when he learned his trade with the Champions of Scotland and playing in cup finals, chamionship winning teams and the Champions League. The closest pardews teams get to seeing the CL is on tv. Yeah, great plan guys. "Rescue Gary Hooper"
