'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Goal hero takes it in his stride

Celtic striker Tony Watt says there is no chance of him getting carried away despite his recent heroics in the Champions League.

"I'll never get carried away or become arrogant because I'm not that sort of person" - Tony Watt
The talented eighteen-year-old has scored in each of his last three appearances but it was his memorable winner against Barcelona earlier this month which totally stunned the football world and helped produce one of Celtic's greatest results in their proud 125-year history.

He was also on target either side of that game against Dundee United and St Johnstone to raise his overall tally for the campaign to six goals in fourteen appearances. Those followed a brace on his debut when appearing as a substitute in a 3-0 victory at Motherwell last season.

But it's really the former Airdrie United striker's outstanding exploits against the brilliant Catalans which has truly elevated his profile to a completely different level - although there is no way he is going to allow all the recent acclaim to go to his head.

"It was great to score a goal against Barcelona and even better that it turned out to be the winning goal," Watt told the Glasgow Evening Times. "It was the biggest game I've ever been involved in and to come off the bench and find the back of the net was such a great feeling.

"The next day, though, I just met up with my pals and it was just like any normal day off," he added. "I'm not the type to let things go to my head; I'll never get carried away or become arrogant because I'm not that sort of person. Also, I know what I need to improve on and there are aspects of my game that I need to work on."
