Talks continue at Celtic Park

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has confirmed that talks are continuing over a new deal for striker Gary Hooper.

"I'm pretty happy with the squad I've got" - Neil Lennon
The 24-year-old marksman was again on target in midweek as his side gloriously secured their progress into the last sixteen of the Champions League with a 2-1 victory over Spartak Moscow.

Lennon naturally remains keen to extend the current deal of Hooper, who has scored eleven times in his last thirteen appearances for the champions. He also hopes to resolve the future of another of his key performers, Kenyan international midfielder Victor Wanyama.

"Gary's representatives are coming up at the weekend and hopefully we can get something done on a positive note there," Lennon told
BBC Scotland. "And Victor, we will keep plugging away and see if we can come to conclusion that pleases everybody."

Meanwhile, Lennon admitted that while he would ideally like to add to his squad during the January transfer window, he wasn't expecting too many new arrivals at Parkhead.

"I wouldn't envisage spending a lot of money, I don't think I need to," he added. "I'm pretty happy with the squad I've got. There are areas where we would like to enhance the squad, and we've been working on that for quite a while."
