Celtic boss Neil Lennon admits that fears of getting the sack are enough to keep him fully motivated.

Despite leading the Hoops to the SPL title last season and then famously guiding them into the last sixteen of the Champions League this time around, the forthright Lennon concedes that such is the profession he works in, he would be more than happy to still be in the same job in twelve months time.

"I don't think you can ever get comfortable in a manager's job unless you're Sir Alex [Ferguson], who deserves to be in that way," Lennon told BBC Scotland. "I've been here 12 years as a player. I know the environment and the standards that required.

"The one thing I fear the most out of the job is the sack," he confessed. "I think that's the same for most managers."

Manager Brendan Rodgers has called for his Celtic players to keep making history.

Holders Celtic avoided a second-half comeback from Hibernian to move into another Scottish League Cup final with a 4-2 victory at Hampden Park.

Defender Mikael Lustig scored twice before the break but former striker Anthony Stokes reduced the deficit from a penalty around the hour-mark.

However, substitute Moussa Dembele then made it 3-1 - and went on to add a late second after Hibs' Oliver Shaw had already replied.
