We are ready for Celtic - Pirlo

Juventus ace Andrea Pirlo says there won't be any fears from the Italian leaders when coming to Celtic in the Champions League next week.

"I'm sure the noise from the Celtic fans will be crazy" - Andrea Pirlo
The Turin giants might have stumbled domestically recently when seeing their eight-point advantage at the top of the Serie 'A' table being reduced to only three by Napoli, while simultaneously crashing out of the Coppa Italia at the semi-final stage on aggregate to Lazio.

But chief playmaker Pirlo, 33, knows there is certainly sufficient experience within the current Juve squad to hold their nerve within the red-hot atmosphere of Glasgow next Tuesday.

"I'm sure the noise from the Celtic fans will be crazy, but that will only make us more determined to go into battle," the former Milan legend told the Daily Record. "We have players who have won the World Cup and Champions League, so we are used to intimidating games.

"I know that Celtic Park will be like a gladiator arena, but we're ready," Pirlo warned. "We are prepared for whatever Celtic have to offer."

The current Italian champions returned to winning ways with a hard-fought 2-1 success at Chievo on Sunday - only their second win in five league games since the turn of the year.

Celtic surged to the top of the Scottish Premiership with a 4-1 victory against Aberdeen at Celtic Park.

Leigh Griffiths' early opener was soon cancelled out by Adam Rooney, but James Forrest restored the home advantage ahead of the break.

However, the champions were forced to wait until the closing stages when Scott Sinclair converted an 87th minute penalty after Mark Reynolds was sent-off.

Midfielder Tom Rogic then curled a delightful free-kick in the final minute.
