Referee demoted in Paisley fall-out

Referee Bobby Madden has been demoted by two divisions this weekend following his controversial penalty award against Celtic on Sunday.

Madden gave a late spot-kick to St Mirren in the 1-1 draw in Paisley as a result of Emilio Izaguirre's soft looking challenge on Esmael Goncalves. Former Celtic man Paul McGowan converted the resultant penalty.

The official will now take charge of the Second Division clash between Arbroath and Albion Rovers this coming weekend.

Meanwhile, Goncalves has been offered a two-match suspension by the SFA for simulation as his part in the incident and has until tomorrow to respond.

Like they had any choice! They even managed to create a brand new offence for Lennon to have committed! They find the cheat who dived, guilty, kick the ass of a rigged ref, but so they couldn't allow Lennon to highlight the corruption, they create what was never an offence before so they can get to him too! Corrupt nd dispicable.

Without Paul McBride they will try to get at him all over again. Not even a damn rule, but they make it one!
