Celtic defender Thomas Rogne has signed a three-year deal with English FA Cup winners Wigan Athletic.

"It's an exciting chapter for me" - Thomas Rogne
The 23-year-old Norwegian international was out of contract after rejecting new terms at Parkhead. He joined the Hoops from Stabæk three years ago and has since made fifty league appearances.

"It's feels great to have joined the club, the process was quite short which was good and I'm looking forward to getting started now," he told Wigan's official website. "It's an exciting chapter for me; English football is something special and being Norwegian we follow the game over here very closely, so to be a part of it makes me very happy."

Rogne becomes Latics' new manager Owen Coyle's third signing of the summer following Chris McCann [Burnley] and Stephen Crainey [Blackpool] arriving last week.

Paris St-Germain 7 Celtic 1

Celtic were handed a second heavy drubbing by Paris St-Germain in their Champions League Group B encounter at Parc des Princes.

Both Neymar and Edinson Cavani scored twice for the hosts after Moussa Dembele had given their visitors a shock first-minute lead.

Kylian Mbappe, Marco Verratti and Dani Alves were similarly on target as the French side secured their biggest-ever Champions League win.

The only consolation for Celtic was that Anderlecht were defeated 2-1 by Bayern
