Legia Warsaw have lost out in their appeal to be reinstated into the Champions League.

"Celtic FC remains qualified to participate in the Uefa Champions League" - CAS Statement
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has rejected Legia Warsaw's latest bid to be provisionally reintroduced back into
the competition.

"The president of the Cas appeals arbitration division considered the parties' written submissions and has denied Legia Warszawa's request," confirmed a CAS statement. "Accordingly, Celtic FC remains qualified to participate in the Uefa Champions League 2014-2015 and will play its next match against NK Maribor on 20 August 2014."

The Poles were penalised for fielding a suspended player during their recent 6-1 aggregate victory over Celtic. Bartosz Bereszynski was introduced for the last few minutes of the second-leg at Murrayfield

However, Legia believed Bereszynski had already served his three-match ban, only to then learn he wasn't even registered for their two earlier meetings with St Patrick's.

CAS therefore denied Legia's appeal for "provisional measures" to be taken and refused to overturn UEFA's original ruling, but will continue to arbitrate on the case.
