Fulham offer Gravesen Celtic exit

Fulham have offered Celtic £1.5million for midfield misfit Thomas Gravesen, according to reports.

The claim, made by the Scottish Sun, would come as no surprise if true as the 31-year-old Dane, who moved to Parkhead from Real Madrid last summer, appears to be nowhere near Gordon Strachan's first-team plans.

While £1.5million is not a lot of money, and is £500,000 less than the speculated £2million fee he cost Celtic, the club would make a large saving in wages. Gravesen is thought to have two years left on his contract, which at £40,000-a-week equates to more than £4million in total.

Gravesen's agent John Sivebaek told the Danish press at the start of the month that it appeared Celtic wanted the midfielder to move to another club before the transfer window closes next week.

He said: "Since both Sheffield United and Besiktas were allowed to talk to us, it indicates that Celtic want to sell. Thomas rejected the offers for certain reasons. As a player you have to accept the manager's decision, but the manager has also got to accept when a player wants to stay and fight for his place."

Gravesen will now have to decide whether Fulham are of a high enough standard for him. Some of his headless chicken performances last season, before he was punted to the bench, suggest Dagenham and Redbridge might be too high a standard for him, but footballers seem to see things in their play that nobody else does.

£1.5million would do me. Then again, 50p would do me just to get him off the books. Still think he'll think he's bigger than Fulham, though...

He's on a different planet, and not in a good way.

So much hope when he signed, but what a waste. Leaves a lot of questions, too.

Personally speaking, I'd rather have jarosik out the door first but TG has certainly dissapointed although goal against huns was a peach.

I think the disappointment was almost as great as the expectation. When you consider this guy played alongside Zidane, Figo and Beckham then he has been an utter let down. What makes it worse is that he seems happy to sit on the bench every week. (Mind you, I'd be ecstatic to get paid £40 grand a week to sit and watch the hoops.)

"People who converse in metaphors are the same fools trying to masquerade as wise men" - C.Smyth. Last time i checked Gravesen was on planet Earth. Just as well because i dont think we could sell him otherwise.

Id take £1.5m for Gravesen and throw Jarosik in for free. Ill even pay there cab fare :)

Wow, like the way you just take random words from dictionary with no relation to previous comments. You have proven to be the "intellect" & "hierarchy" of vital as you've said.
LARSSON*7*CFC
And you have proven to "being the grammar of a 5 year old". No change there then ;) RK getting the better of his inferiors.

why the petty squabbling?

tommy 4 ****s sake do the decent thing and go. im not 2 fond of the guy myself, but sanchez could prove a decnt manager. not a trophy-winner, but safe mid-table type. nuff about that p***k, pack-up tommy. a major let-down.

can some1 tell me wat the problem is with rk1888? can some1 xplain 2 me. im lost. why does no one agree with him.

4leafclover, the guy has been bad mouthing the club's achievements. Check out his comments on the 'zurawski not leaving' article think its 13 down. He also thinks that we should have same european expectations as MUFC each year for this see the diouf article. Everyone has their opinions which don't always have to be the same but RK simply talks pish. He is def an undercover hun trying to create some sort of fan animosity towards WGS & curb his improvement & success of team by walking. Either that or he is just a tosser :)
LARSSON*7*CFC
no worries. that clears that up. cheers. he semmed 2 take offence on "celtic in the media" article though. anyway hope tommy g jumps ship. asap.

spat over !

You've got to wonder what Fulham see in Gravesen. Hopfully he will take Zurawski and Jarosik with him.
