Holders Celtic moved into the Scottish League Cup semi-finals with a 4-0 victory against Dundee at Dens Park.

The always lively Scott Sinclair's penalty earned them a first-half lead improved by James Forrest just prior to the break.

However, the Hoops were forced to wait until very late in the contest before substitute Callum McGregor and Forrest (again) added further goals.

Defender Dedryck Boyata was passed fit to play following a knee injury that had ruled him out so far this season.

Olivier Ntcham struck an early effort wide for the visitors, but it wasn't until the elusive Sinclair was taken down inside the area by Jack Hendry that they gained tangible reward. Sinclair himself converting the penalty on twenty-five minutes.

That was extended three minutes from the interval with Kieran Tierney invitingly delivering into the area for the arriving Forrest to double the lead.

Leigh Griffiths saw an effort diverted wide after the break before the returning Boyata was replaced by teenager Anthony Ralston with over an hour played.

Forrest later called goalkeeper Scott Bain into action through a half-volley, although it was Sinclair setting up substitute McGregor to fire a third goal from the edge of the area with just a couple of minutes remaining.

And Forrest was to add another from similar range in stoppage-time, thus helping make it now an incredible 56 domestic games unbeaten for his colleagues.
