Holders Celtic avoided a second-half comeback from Hibernian to move into another Scottish League Cup final with a 4-2 victory at Hampden Park.

Defender Mikael Lustig scored twice before the break but former striker Anthony Stokes reduced the deficit from a penalty around the hour-mark.

However, substitute Moussa Dembele then made it 3-1 - and went on to add a late second after Hibs' Oliver Shaw had already replied.

Celtic were ahead on the quarter-hour when their opponents failed to clear Stuart Armstrong's delivery and Lustig slotted past Ross Laidlaw.

Goalscorer Lustig soon curled another attempt wide from the edge of the area before steering in Leigh Griffiths' corner at the far post just before the interval.

But Dedryck Boyata was adjudged to have fouled Martin Boyle inside the area following the break and Stokes did the rest from the penalty spot.

Hoops substitute Dembele then went on to add a third goal from close-in, only for Hibs' own replacement Shaw to reply within five minutes.

Dembele was then denied another by keeper Laidlaw, until finally making the game safe from a slick finish with just a couple of minutes remaining.
