The term; Big Man, is a much overused and often wrongly applied one in football, however, standing as he does in his bare-feet at 6ft 7in - it is certainly a very apt description of Fraser Forster! And for any budding Celtic statisticians out there, Fraser is the tallest player ever to play for the Bhoys.

The 'big man' entered this world on St Patrick's day(17th of March)1988. Not only was it a very auspicious date to be born on for a Celtic player, but the year also marks the clubs centenary too. They say that some players were 'born to play for Celtic'. Well, the stars have certainly aligned in big Fraser's case, and the god's seem to have played their part also - the rest of it is now up to the big man himself.

Currently on a year-long loan from his parent club, Newcastle United, Forster has already let it be known that he would like to extended his stay with us and would happily sign a permanent deal with Celtic.

Former Celt and current manager of Norwich City, Paul Lambert, had Forster on loan at his club last year(2009/10)during their romp to the League One title - and subsequent promotion to the Championship. Forster made a total of 42 appearances(38 in the league)for Lambert's champions and was a major factor in the teams success.

High Praise

Paul Lambert raved about Forster's performances for him and, on hearing that Celtic had secured his services, the Norwich boss had the following to say about Forster;

"Everybody knows what Fraser did for us at Norwich last season. I first saw him when he was on loan at Stockport and I was at Colchester. I got the chance to bring him in when I moved to Norwich and he was absolutely unbelievable."

"Fraser is young but don't judge him by his age. He has unbelievable ability and if you had seen the job he did for me last season, you'd know that age isn't an issue in this case. The Celtic fans will love him."

Awards

Macron Golden Gloves winner for the highest number of clean sheets in League One.

Voted Norwich City Players' Player of the Year 2010 by his peers.
