Key player focus: Joe Ledley the Welsh Gerrard?
Joe Ledley has been somewhat anonymous since his Celtic career has kicked started but has been filling a vital role in midfield, his contributions have seemed somewhat null but he fills a void in the Celtic midfield that the average fan might not appreciate nor even see.

He has formed somewhat of a glue and consistency which is much needed in any successful team, he has leadership qualities which were evident from his time with Cardiff City. He has held back to break up play and play short passes to initiate an attack. He also bombs forward with intelligent runs, what he lacks in pace he more than makes up in intelligence and calmness on the ball. His long range passing has been impressive also.

Celtic signing Ledley was seen as a huge coup not only for Celtic but for Scottish football as a whole. He certainly has the class to ply his trade in the English Premier League and was also attracting the interest of Roma when we nipped in to nab him. He's a young lad and a fully fledged Welsh international who has proved his class with Wales time and time again and stands out in the team as a natural leader.

Even though he has achieved only mediocre success with Cardiff he was a stalwart in that team and has earned rave reviews from pundits and peers alike. So what's the future hold for Ledley? Is this his ticket to a high end English club or does he see a career with Celtic, only time will tell. He will prove influential in grasping the SPL from the iron claws of Rangers this season. In any case this Bosman will either prove to be a Celtic legend or a huge profit.

Holders Celtic avoided a second-half comeback from Hibernian to move into another Scottish League Cup final with a 4-2 victory at Hampden Park.

Defender Mikael Lustig scored twice before the break but former striker Anthony Stokes reduced the deficit from a penalty around the hour-mark.

However, substitute Moussa Dembele then made it 3-1 - and went on to add a late second after Hibs' Oliver Shaw had already replied.
