There's a number of players with contracts expiring next summer that we should look at either signing this January or at least looking at signing them on a pre-contract for the summer.

"He's tall and no slouch, comfortable in possession"

Berat Djimsiti - 22 year old Albanian international CB, DM or LB. I've written about him before, he's in a team who
are doing awful right now but he's clearly their best player. FC Zurich are bottom of the league in Switzerland but he's better than that! He's tall but he's quick, hence why he can also play LB!

Georgi Terziev - 23 year old Bulgarian international CB/RB. He's not the tallest CB but he's athletic and has a good jump and is very strong and pretty quick! I've written about him before as well.

Jonathan Mensah - 25 year old Ghana international. He's only made 1 appearance this season for Ligue2 Evian (relegated last season) after his suspension through the sports court. He's been available but not in the squad even after the suspension. We were definitely interested in the summer until we knew about the suspension so I don't see why that would change and Evian would be interested in doing a deal and getting some money for him. He's very experienced playing for the Ghana national team and he's played in both Italy and France in the top leagues, the only thing he doesn't have is European club competition experience.

Zarko Tomasevic - 25 year old CB/LB and Montenegro international. He's tall and no slouch, comfortable in possession. I think I scouted him years ago. He used to play in Portugal for Nacional before moving to Madeira where he only spent 6 months before moving to Partizan Belgrade where he spent a year and he's now been at KV Kortrijk in Belgium since July 2013.

Goran Milovic - 26 (27 at the end of January) year old Croatian international who plays for HNK Hajduk Split in Croatia. He's not the most mobile but he's experienced, he's the club captain and he's a big physical presence. It would be a little bit like when we signed Mjastorovic but he's not as old and probably more mobile.

Rasmus Elm - 27 year old DM, former Sweden international who last year returned to his hometown club of Kalmar. He left as a youngster to play for AZ Alkmaar in Holland where he spent 3 years before moving to CSKA Moscow and spent 2.5 years there before moving to Kalmar in January 2015. He is back at Kalmar with his 2 older brothers, Viktor (who I scouted before) and the eldest brother David.

Branimir Hrgota - 22 year old Sweden U21 international striker currently playing at Borussia Monchengladbach but he's a bit part player with 4 sub appearances all season. He has been in Germany for 3.5 years after scoring 28 goals in 39 appearances in the Swedish 2nd division. He's represented the full Sweden national team 3 times. He's a bit like Guidetti where he's at that point in his career where he will want and need first team football. He's about 6ft tall and would offer us something different up front to what we have. That mix between pace and height/strength.
